We have a number of secrets about our lives, but one is extremely colorful.  What is the Sunbittern’s secret? If you visit the Sarapiqui River or La Mina (Near Rancho Naturalista) in Costa Rica, you will have a good chance to see at least one of us and some of our habits.  If you are very lucky, you will fly me fly or display, revealing my secret.  – The Sunbitterns

The wonderful thing about wildlife, especially birds, is that they have so many hidden secrets. Some of these secrets are easy to discover by a fairly short observation period. Some require prolonged or repeated observation (seasonal).

Some secrets you may never see, or you may discover almost immediately. That is part of the delight of watching wildlife. You can return to the same place and walk or sit still and see very little or see a plethora of amazing sights. Part of the “luck” has to do with having a good guide, familiar with the area, and possessing fantastic eyes and ears, with you.

That is why I recommend Luis Barrantes of LUBARO so highly. I can recommend other guides of more restricted areas.
