What is it like to be a baby howler monkey? When we are very young, we travel on Mama’s back. We have to hang on tight so we don’t fall off. As we grow, Mama pushes us onto tiny tree branches to practice climbing. We have the advantage of being able to use five “hands.”
Dedicated to my parents, John W. and Inez Creager, who taught me to love nature by moving to the country and by traveling to 47 states, 5 provinces of Canada, and Central America. We camped in a tent and explored parks and natural areas every summer.
